What is Trimex
Trimex is an antibiotic that fights bacteria in the body.Trimex is used to treat bladder or kidney infections, or ear infections caused by certain bacteria.

- mild itching or skin rash.

Usual Adult Dose for Urinary Tract Infection:
Acute uncomplicated infections: 100 mg orally every 12 hours or 200 mg orally every 24 hours for 10 daysUsual Adult Dose for Cystitis Prophylaxis:

Who should not take Trimex?
You should not use Trimex if you are allergic to it, or if you have a certain type of anemia caused by a folate (folic acid) deficiency.

FDA pregnancy category C. It is not known whether Trimex will harm an unborn baby. Tell your doctor if you are pregnant or plan to become pregnant while using this medication.
Trimex can pass into breast milk and may harm a nursing baby. Do not use this medication without telling your doctor if you are breast-feeding a baby.
Trimex should not be given to a child younger than 6 months old.
What other drugs will affect Trimex?
Tell your doctor about all medications you use, and those you start or stop using during your treatment with Trimex, especially:

a diuretic (water pill);

dofetilide (Tikosyn);

heart or blood pressure medication such as procainamide (Procan, Pronestyl) and others;

leucovorin (folinic acid);

phenytoin (Dilantin).
