Mebrin is a musculotropic antispasmodic agent without atropic, prescribed for irritable bowel syndrome, and GI tract spasm. It works by relaxing the intestinal muscles causing the problem.
Mebrin contraindication
Contraindicated in patients with paralytic ileus.
Mebrin dosage
Adult: PO- Irritable bowel syndrome; GI tract spasm As HCl: 100 or 135 mg 3 times/day. Extended release 200 mg twice daily. As embonate: 150 mg 3 times/day.
Mebrin usage
It comes as a capsule to take by mouth, with food.
Mebrin precautions
Caution should be exercised in patients with liver and kidney impairment, heart block, porphyria, during pregnancy and breastfeeding. It may cause dizziness, do not drive car or operate machinery while taking Mebrin.
