Metronidazole TABLETS USP Metronidazole Injection USP, sterile, is a parenteral dosage form of a synthetic antibacterial agent, 2-methyl-5-nitroimidazole-1-ethanol. To reduce the development of drug-resistant bacteria and maintain the effectiveness of Metronidazole Injection USP and other antibacterial drugs, Metronidazole Injection USP should be used only to treat or prevent infections that are proven or strongly suspected to be caused by susceptible bacteria.
